Measure the installed height of the tube, from the base of the camshaft bracket to the top of the tube. It should be between 63.5 mm and 64.5 mm.

If the installed height is between 63.5 mm and 64.5 mm, go to the next step.

If the installed height is more than 64.5 mm, place the special tool on top of the tube, and tap it with a plastic hammer until the correct height is
reached.

If the installed height is less than 63.5 mm, remove the tube and discard it. Get another new tube and try again, but this time, measure its height
after each hammer tap. Stop when it reaches the correct height.

Check the threads in the spark plug hole for excess adhesive. If you see any, wrap a clean shop towel around the end of a flat tip screwdriver, then
spray brake cleaner on the towel, insert it into the hole, and carefully wipe off the adhesive.

Repeat steps 13 through 15 for the rest of the tubes.
17.
Check the gap on each new spark plug, and adjust it if needed. The gap should be 1.05 mm (.040 in.).
18.
Apply a drop of clean motor oil to the threads of each spark plug.
19.
Install the plugs, and tighten them to 18 N~m (13 lb-ft).
20.
Put the new upper gaskets on the spark plug tubes.
21.
Remove the throttle body and shop towel from the intake ports.
22.
Reinstall the cylinder head covers and the common chamber using new gaskets. (Refer to section 6A1 of the Service Manual for installation
information.)
23.
Reinstall the throttle body with a new gasket, and tighten its mounting bolts to 22 N.m (16 lb-ft).
