Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

Removal

Preparation: Disconnect Battery Ground Cable.

Drain Engine Coolant System.

CAUTION:  Care must be taken when handling Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor. Damage to ECT Sensor will affect proper operation
of the Fuel Injection system.

1. Remove Inlet manifold Assembly.
2. Disconnect Electrical Connector.
3. Remove ECT Sensor from rear of Engine Coolant Transfer Tube.

Installation

To install, follow the removal steps in the reverse order. 

3. Install ECT Sensor. Apply sealer or equivalent to threads only. Tighten the ECT sensor to the specified torque

Torque: 30 Nm (22 lb.ft)

2. Connect ECT Sensor Connector.
1. Install Intake Manifold Assembly.
