BACKGROUND
The charging system voltage regulator, which is built into the alternator, may cause overcharging of the battery, and the generation of high voltage. This
high voltage can cause the malfunction of various electrical circuits. If the engine controls malfunction, engine stalling is possible.
CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION
All owners of affected vehicles will be mailed a notification of this recall. An example of the customer letter is at the end of this service bulletin.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Determine the production date of the alternator. If necessary, disassemble the alternator, and replace the voltage regulator.

Screw kit: P/N 2-90276-700-0, H/C 5382817
This kit contains an assortment of screws, nuts, and insulator bushings to replace items that may be lost or damaged during alternator
disassembly/reassembly. It contains enough parts to do five complete alternators. One kit was automatically allocated to each dealer.
