4-cylinder: Install the insulator bushing, cup side up, onto the B terminal stud. Install the flanged nut, and torque it to 6.8 Nm (60 lb-in). Slide
the rubber boot over the terminal on the wire harness, then place the wire harness over the B terminal stud. Install the lock washer and nut;
torque the nut to 6.8 Nm (60 lb-in).

V-6: Install the insulator bushing and the flanged nut onto the B terminal stud. Torque the nut to 6.8 Nm (60 lb-in).

Straighten a large paper clip to use as a brush holder tool. Insert the paper clip end through the hole in the rear housing closest to the B terminal.
Push the brushes into the holder with your finger until the holes in the brushes line up with the paper clip. Push the paper clip through the brush
holes to hold them recessed.

NOTE: 

The brushes may be worn so that you cannot push them in far enough with your finger. If so, make a second tool by straightening out another
paper clip. Make a 90° bend in the paper clip 1/2 inch from the end. Use the bent end to push down the brushes, one at a time, as you insert the
brush holder tool.

Place the rear housing assembly on top of the front housing. Use the alternator mounting bolt to align the two housings. Push the two housings
together squarely with both hands. If there is a gap between the two housings, tap on the outer edges of the rear housing with a plastic mallet. Do
not strike the center of the housing; it may crack.

33.

Install the four housing through-bolts. Torque the bolts to 4.0 Nm (35 lb-in).
