While holding the new pivot bracket in place, install the crimping tool over the lock cylinder. Be sure to line up the cylinder retaining tabs with the
special tool.

Lightly tap on the crimping tool with a hammer. To avoid damage to the lock cylinder, do not hit the tool with excessive force.

17.

Install the lock lever and the circlip.

18.

Install the lock cylinder in the tailgate.

19.

Install the lock cylinder retaining clip, the latch rod, and the lock rod.

20.

Install the tailgate trim panel.

21.

Close the tailgate and the rear hatch, and verify the repair by opening and closing the hatch several times.
