Steering Wheel Shimmy

SYMPTOM
While driving at highway speeds on a bumpy or uneven road, the steering wheel shimmies left and right. This condition is usually worse on concrete
roads than asphalt roads.

PROBABLE CAUSE
The wheels are out of balance, the tires are worn, and/or the steering rack is not damping enough of the rotational force of the tires.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
Balance and rotate the tires, and if not already done, replace the steering rack yoke spring.
