Door Checker Damages Door Wire Harness

SYMPTOM
The vehicle may have any of these conditions:
-

The radio is on, but you hear no sound from the speakers.

-

With the radio on, the speakers crackle when you open a front door.

-

Some or all of these fuses in the under dash fuse box are blown:

-

No. CB-9 (10A), interior lights

-

No. CB-14 (20A), power door locks

-

No. CB-27 (30A), power windows

PROBABLE CAUSE
The door checker (detent rod) in the driver's door or the front passenger's door has damaged the door wire harness.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the damaged door wire harness(es), and secure both front door harnesses so they do not contact the door checkers.

Bulk Vacuum Hose* (Use this number to order bulk vacuum hose, but do not use it on the warranty claim):
P/N 95005-50003-30M, H/C 2380608

*For warranty claim submission, use P/N 95005-50120-30, H/C 5503230. (This number represents the amount of vacuum hose needed for one vehicle.)

REQUIRED MATERIALS

3M ULTRAPRO Urethane Seam Sealer:

3M P/N 051135-8360

Wire Tie, 12" (4 required): Commercially available

REQUIRED SPECIAL TOOLS

Trim Pad Remover:

Snap-on P/N A177A (or equivalent)
