Brake Pedal Assy: Service and Repair

PREPARATION

-

Disconnect the battery "-" terminal cable, and wait at least 5 minutes.

-

Disconnect the yellow 3 way SRS connector located under the steering column.

Brake Pedal Replacement

REMOVE

1. Instrument panel lower cover

-

Remove the engine hood opening lever.

2. Lower cluster
3. Meter cluster
4. Driver knee bolster

-

Remove the steering column shaft fixing bolts on the steering wheel side, and lower the steering column shaft.

5. Vent duct
6. Connector

-

Disconnect the stop light switch connector.

-

Disconnect the anti-theft control module connector.

7. Snap pin
8. Push rod pin
9. Bolts

10. Brake pedal bracket assembly

-

Remove the brake pedal bracket assembly.

11. Return spring
12. Fulcrum pin
13. Pedal assembly

INSTALL

1. Pedal assembly
2. Fulcrum pin

-

Apply grease to the entire circumference of the fulcrum pin.

Spec
Torque to 35 Nm (26 lb. ft.)
