Assemble the thrust washer to the No.3 bearing journal. The oil grooves must face the crankshaft.
2. Main bearing cap [11]

Apply engine oil to the threads and the seating Low faces of the bolts.

Install bearing caps in the order shown with the No.1 as the front most bearing cap.

Tighten the bolts in two steps:
a. First semi-tighten all of the bolts.
b. Second, tighten all the bolts to specification in the order shown to 39 Nm (29 ft. lbs.).

After the final tightening, check to see that the crankshaft rotates smoothly.
3. Rear oil seal [10]

Remove the oil from the cylinder block and the retainer mounting surface.
