Air Filter Element: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Loosen the clamp between the air cleaner lid and the mass air flow sensor.
2. Release the four latches securing the lid to the air cleaner housing.
3. Remove the air cleaner lid.

4. Remove the air filter element.

CLEANING METHOD

Hit the Air Cleaner Filter gently with care not to damage the paper filter, or clean the element by blowing with compressed air of about 49kPa (71
psi) from the clean side if it is extremely dirty.

INSTALLATION

To install, follow the removal steps in the reverse order. 

1. Install the air filter element in the air cleaner housing.
2. Install the air cleaner lid on the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor and the air cleaner housing.
3. Tighten the clamp and secure the four latches between the lid and the air cleaner housing.
