YES - Go to Reference Voltage Is Less Than 5 Volts.

NO - Continue with step 3.

Remove the fuel cap, turn off the engine, and leave the ignition key in the ON (II) position.

4.

Using the Honda PGM Tester, read the fuel tank vacuum voltage. Is voltage between 1.3 and 1.7 volts?

YES - The fuel tank pressure sensor is OK. Disregard this bulletin and continue troubleshooting according to Section 6E2 of the 1996-97 Passport
Fuel and Emissions Manual.

NO - Faulty fuel tank pressure sensor. To replace the sensor, refer to pages 6E2-580 and 581 of the 1996-97 Passport Fuel and Emissions Manual.

5.

Reinstall the center console cover, and clear any DTCs with the Honda PGM Tester.
