Remove the fuel gauge sending unit from the fuel tank (five screws and one electrical connector).

Measure the resistance across the "R+" and "E-" terminals with the float in the full position.

If the resistance is between 4 ohms and 18 ohms, the sending unit is not the problem. Troubleshoot other causes.

If the resistance is greater than 18 ohms, continue to step 5.

5.

Install the new sending unit, with gasket, in the fuel tank with the original screws (see PARTS INFORMATION).

6.

Reconnect the electrical connector.

7.

Replace any drained out fuel.

8.

Reconnect the battery.

9.

Enter the radio station presets.
