On vehicles with SRS, remove the instrument panel lower cover.

Remove the steering column covers.

Remove the steering wheel cover.

WARNING

To prevent accidental airbag deployment, turn the ignition switch OFF, disconnect the negative battery cable, and wait at least five minutes before
disconnecting any SRS connectors. See 1995.5 or later Passport Service Manual for airbag handling instructions.

Make a mark across the steering wheel and shaft for alignment during reassembly. Then remove the steering wheel with a commercially available
puller (Kent-Moore T/N J-29752 or equivalent). To avoid damaging the collapsible steering column, do not attempt to remove the steering wheel
without a puller.
