BACKGROUND

The trailer harness converter box is connected to the cargo area accessory power outlet. This outlet gets power only when the ignition switch is in the
Accessory or ON position, so the trailer lights dc not work when the ignition switch is in the LOCK position.

CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION

Dealerships should check their sales records to identify owners of Passports who purchased the accessory trailer hitch. The dealerships should contact
those owners by telephone or letter and ask them to come in for this update. An example of a customer letter is at the end of this service bulletin.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Connect the trailer harness to the cargo area light, which provides battery voltage to the converter box at all times.
