Creaking Noise From the Moonroof

SYMPTOM
Creaking sound is heard coming from the roof area just behind the moonroof opening.

PROBABLE CAUSE
A nut clip is rubbing against the moonroof frame.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
Remove the headliner, and reposition two nut clips.

DIAGNOSIS
Push up on the dome light to flex the roof, then let go.

^ If you do not hear a creaking or squeaking sound, continue troubleshooting in other areas.

^ If you hear a creaking or squeaking sound, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1.

Write down the customer's radio station presets.

2.

Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

3.

Remove the dome light.

4.

Remove the moonroof opening trim.
