Blower Does Not Run in One or More Settings
(Supersedes 01-007, dated July 3, 2001)
SYMPTOM
The blower does not run in one or more fan control lever positions.
PROBABLE CAUSE
A high current draw on the blower resistor causes it overheat and to become electrically "open." This high current draw is usually caused by high friction
in the blower motor bearings and/or debris in the blower assembly housing, which jams or slows the blower motor and damages its commutator.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the blower resistor and the blower motor assembly. Clean out all debris from inside the blower assembly housing.
