ABS Indicator Light Is On With ABS DTCs C0235, C0236, or C0237
SYMPTOM
The ABS indicator light is on and one or more of these ABS DTCs are set:
^
C0235 (53) - Rear speed sensor circuit is open or shorted
^
C0236 (63) - Rear speed sensor signal is missing
^
C0237 (63) - Rear speed sensor signal drops out
PROBABLE CAUSE
Bending of the wire harness causes one or more of the three wires entering connector C304 to fatigue and separate. Because C304 is mounted on the left
upper link of the rear suspension, and the corrugated tubing encasing the wire harness is mounted on the frame, the bending concentrates on these wires.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the rear speed sensor sub-harness with a new sub-harness that splices directly into the wire harness. This new sub-harness eliminates C304.
