Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the radio and the navigation system (if equipped), then write down the frequencies for the radio's
preset buttons.

Disconnect the negative battery cable, and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.

Remove the access panel from the steering wheel.

Remove the airbag connector from the horn plate.

Unplug the airbag connector. While holding the pin insulator, pull out on the cover insulator. Do not pull on the socket insulator.

Use a TORX 130 bit to remove the two TORX bolts securing the airbag, and remove the airbag. Set the TORX bolts aside; they won't be reused.
Carefully set the airbag in a secure location with the pad facing up. Do not drop the airbag or bump it against anything.

8. Turn the steering wheel so the front wheels are in the straight-ahead position.

Release the audio, cruise-control, and horn switch connector wires from the clips, then unplug the main connector.

10.

Use a TORX 140 bit to remove the four TORX bolts securing the horn plate to the steering wheel, then remove the plate, washers, and springs.
