Carefully slide the intake rocker shaft out of the bridge, and place the shaft on the work area facing the same direction you removed it.

NOTE:

The 10 rocker shaft mounting bolts cannot be reinstalled unless you reinstall each shaft in the same direction and angle it is removed.

Remove the rocker arms from the bridge. The rocker arms will not be reused.

Using the instructions in steps 4 and 5, remove the exhaust rocker shaft and the exhaust rocker arms.

Remove and retain the lost motion springs from the rocker shaft bridge. There are nine springs (three intake and six exhaust).

NOTE:

Do not remove the spring circlips from the bridge.

Thoroughly clean the intake and exhaust rocker shafts and the rocker shaft bridge with solvent. Dry the parts with compressed air.
