Screw the VCS air regulator adapter, hand tight, into the port on the right side of the rocker arm bridge.
7.
Connect the VCM air regulator to the adapter and to shop air. Adjust the regulator to 50 psi.
8.
Rotate the engine the same as in step 5.

If all the intake and exhaust rocker arms are opening and closing the valves, continue with normal troubleshooting to find the cause of the
engine noise.

If any of the intake or exhaust rocker arms are not opening and closing the valves, remove the regulator and the adapter, then go to REPAIR
PROCEDURE.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Remove the 10 mounting bolts securing the rocker shaft bridge to the cylinder head.
2.
Remove the two bolts securing the rocker shaft holder to the cylinder head.
3.
Lift the rocker shaft bridge and holder off the cylinder head, and place it upside down on a clean work area. Separate the holder from the bridge,
and set the holder to the side.
