Shift Interlock Solenoid: Service and Repair
Shift Lock Solenoid Replacement
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations, and the precautions and procedures in the SRS before performing
repairs or service.
1. Remove the shift lever assembly.
2. Remove the screws (A) securing the shift lock solenoid (B), then remove the shift lock solenoid.
3. Remove the shift lock solenoid plunger (C) and plunger spring (D) from the shift lock solenoid, and replace the shift lock solenoid.
4. Install the shift lock solenoid plunger and plunger spring in the new shift lock solenoid.
5. Apply silicone grease to the tip (E) of the shift lock extension, and install the shift lock solenoid by aligning the joint of the shift lock solenoid
plunger with the tip of the shift lock extension.
6. Secure the shift lock solenoid with the screws.
7. Install the shift lever assembly.
