Door Lock Silencer Replacement (Supersedes 84-007, dated January, 1984)
PROBLEM
A door rattle caused by a deteriorated door lock silencer.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1.
Remove the deteriorated door lock silencer from the door latch.
2.
If necessary, cut a slit in the round end of the new silencer.
3.
Fit the round end of the new silencer over the latch shaft.
4.
Use a screwdriver to hold the latch in the open position, then push the pre-formed, notched end of the silencer into the cut-out in the latch with the
blunt end of a pencil.
