Vibrating Speedometer Needle
PROBLEM
The speedometer needle vibrates when the heater blower is used at approximately one quarter speed.
PROBABLE CAUSE
Electrical interference from the heater blower power transistor.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1.
Remove the glove box.
2.
Loosen the blower/evaporator sealing band and slide it towards the evaporator.
3.
Disconnect the wire connector and vacuum hose from the blower.
4.
Remove the three mounting bolts from the blower and lower the blower to the floor.
5.
Replace the power transistor with the new type listed under Parts Information.
6.
Reinstall the blower, making sure there is no air leakage from the sealing band.
