Valve Clearance: Adjustments

NOTE: Valves should be adjusted with cylinder head temperature below 100° F (38°C)

Valve Arrangement

1.

Remove valve cover

#1 Piston At TDC

2.

Align #1 cylinder to TDC. The "UP" mark on the camshaft pulley should be at the top, and the TDC grooves on the back side of the camshaft
pulley should align with the cylinder head surface. The distributor must point to #1 spark plug terminal.

VALVE CLEARANCE:

INTAKE AND AUXILIARY:.005 - .007 in (.12 - .17 mm)
EXHAUST:

.010 - .012 in (.25 - .30 mm)

LOCKNUT TORQUE VALUE:

INTAKE AND EXHAUST:14 ftlb (20 Nm)
AUXILIARY:

10 ftlb (14 Nm)
