5. Measure taper at the edges of each journal.

The difference between measurements on each journal must not exceed the standard.

Journal Taper 

Standard (New): 0.005 mm (0.0002 inch) max 

6. Measure runout on the No. 2 journal of each balancer shaft to make sure the balancer shafts are not bent.

Balancer Shaft Total Indicated Runout 

Standard (New): 0.02 mm (0.001 inch) max 
Service Limit: 0.03 mm (0.001 inch)
