Horn Switch: Testing and Inspection

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations, precautions, and procedures in the Supplemental Restraint System
before performing repairs or service.

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable, then disconnect the positive cable, and wait at least three minutes.

2. Remove the access panel from the steering wheel, then disconnect the 2P connector between the driver's airbag and cable reel.
3. Remove the dashboard lower cover.

4. Disconnect the combination switch harness 4P connector from the main wire harness.

5. Check for continuity between the No.3 ('97 - 98 models) or No. 1 ('99 model) terminal of the 4P connector of the combination switch harness and

body ground with the horn switch pressed.

If there is continuity, the horn switch is OK.

If there is no continuity, go to step 6.
