If the measurement is 2 inches or more, go to step 2.

If the measurement is 1-7/8 inches or less, do not continue with this repair procedure. However, inspect the convertible top cover for warpage
due to improper storage. If necessary, lay the top cover in the sun to allow the material to relax before reinstalling the cover.

Remove the door sill trim and the rear side trim on both sides. Refer to section 20 of the service manual.

Raise the convertible top halfway.

4.

Using a stubby 3/8" drive ratchet (with a 4" handle), a 6" extension, and a 12 mm crowfoot wrench, loosen the locknut on the lowered position
stop.

5.

Turn the locknut six turns counterclockwise, then turn the lowered position stop five turns clockwise.

6.

Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the other side of the convertible top.
