Hood Latch: Service and Repair
Hood Latch Replacement
NOTE: Take care not to kink the cable.
Replacement
1. Remove the air guide plate cover, then remove the hood latch as shown.
2. Install the latch in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

Apply multipurpose grease to the hood latch.

Make sure the hood opener cable is connected properly.

Make sure the cable actuates the latch before you close the hood.

Adjust the hood latch alignment.

Make sure the hood locks securely.
-
Check for damaged or stress-whitened clips, and replace them with new ones.
-
Push the cover clips into place securely.
