Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Parts and Service Manager or your Zone
Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
NOTE:
Protect the interior of the vehicle with a blanket during this procedure.
1.
Unlatch the convertible top, and open the top about 12 inches.
2.
Grasp the second rib of the convertible top and pivot the second rib toward the rear of the vehicle, then forward again.

If the second rib of the top does not pivot easily, go to step 3.

If the second rib of the top pivots easily, go to step 4.
3.
Remove the covers from the left and right pivot point of the second rib, and lubricate the pivot points with white lithium grease spray.

If the second rib of the top still does not pivot easily, replace the damaged components. Refer to section 20 of the 2000-06 S2000 Service
Manual.
