A/C Whistles From Passenger's Vent
SYMPTOM
With the A/C on, a whistle is heard coming from the passenger's side vent between idle and 2,000 rpm.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The expansion valve is vibrating.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the expansion valve.

DIAGNOSIS
Warm the engine up to full operating temperature (until the radiator fan comes on twice). Turn on the NC to max cold and the blower speed to low:

If you hear a whistle coming from the passenger's side vent, replace the expansion valve.

If you don't hear a whistle, this bulletin does not apply. Continue with normal troubleshooting.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Start the engine, turn on the A/C, and let the engine idle for 5 minutes.
2.
Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then recover the refrigerant:
