Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Wheels and Tires/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (See: Wheels and Tires/Service and Repair) .
3. Support the lower control arm.
4. Remove the wheel drive shaft nut. Discard the nut.
5. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor harness from the chassis harness.
6. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor harness from inner fender panel.
7. Disconnect the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle. Refer to Rack and Pinion Outer Tie Rod End Replacement (See: Tie Rod/Tie Rod
End/Service and Repair) .
8. Remove and discard the upper control arm pinch bolt and nut from the ball joint.
9. Remove and discard the lower control arm retaining nut.
10. Separate the lower ball joint from the steering knuckle using the J 43631 .
