Shifter A/T: Service and Repair

DISASSEMBLY

1. Refer to illustration for disassembly.

INSPECTION

1. Check the detent place for wear.
2. Check the bushing for wear or damage.
3. Check the spring for damage or deterioration.
4. Check the pin at the end of rod assembly for wear.

ASSEMBLY

1. Apply a coating of the specified grease to the sliding part of the bushing.

Specified grease: Chassis grease SAE J310, NLGI No. 2 or equivalent.
