2000-2001 ACCENT ECM REPROGRAMMING
TO IMPROVE ACCELERATION AFTER
AN INITIAL COLD START
DESCRIPTION:
Certain 2000-2001 Accent vehicles with 1.5L SOHC and 1.6L DOHC engines may experience the following symptoms:
^
Slower than usual acceleration after an initial cold start.
^
Excessive rpm drop when engaging reverse (on ATM equipped vehicles) after an initial cold start.
^
The condition occurs only in the summer (hot and humid weather conditions).
The ECM program has been revised to increase engine torque during cold starts to improve acceleration.
The following procedure describes updating the ECM software, using the Hi-Scan Pro.
NOTE:
Item "13. LC 00-01 MY ACCELERATION" displayed on the first screen of the Hi-Scan Pro during reprogramming includes the previous item "07.
