2000 ACCENT CRANK-NO-START CAUSED BY SHORT IN THE MAIN HARNESS FOR DASH FUSE # 5 CIRCUIT
DESCRIPTION:
If a 2000 Accent vehicle exhibits the following symptoms:

The vehicle experiences a crank-no-start condition.
^
The check engine light does not come on when the key is turned to the ON position.
^
The passenger compartment fuse # 5 (10A; ECM/TCM, A/T Shift Lever) is blown.
Check for a short to ground in the wire for the overdrive switch (Red with Black stripe) near the wiring harness connector M25.
This harness is located under the center console trim panel just behind the ATM shifter assembly (see photo).
