DEALERS MUST PERFORM THIS CAMPAIGN ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES IN STOCK AND WHENEVER AN AFFECTED VEHICLE
IS IN THE SHOP FOR ANY MAINTENANCE OR REPAIR.

DESCRIPTION:
This bulletin provides information for an ECM software update to some 2011 MY Elantra vehicles to revise logic for the following DTCs:

P0106 Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Range/Performance
-
P0605 Internal Control Module Read Only Memory(ROM) Error

from start of production Nov 1, 2010 - Mar 29, 2011 (UD - US built) IMPORTANT CAMPAIGN SPECIAL PROCEDURES:
The following special procedures will help ensure vehicles do not experience Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) DTC P0638 Throttle Actuator Control
Performance & P2110 Forced limited RPM (limp home operation) or other DTC's after ECM Update:

ECM Update should be performed inside a warm shop when possible, but if it has to be performed on a cold vehicle parked outside at an ambient
temperature below 40F, the engine must first run for 10 minutes to warm up prior to conducting the ECM Update procedures. ETC learning cannot
occur when engine coolant or Intake Air Temperature is below 40F.

After ECM Update the ignition must be turned OFF for 10 seconds, followed by ignition turned ON with engine not running for 5 seconds to allow
for proper ETC learning.
NOTE:
For push button start, push the button 2 times without depressing the brake pedal for ignition on, as the first press is only accessories mode.

All Systems should be checked for incidental DTCs after the ECM Update and ETC Learning. All DTCs must be cleared from each sub system.
