Tires - Irregular Rear Tire, Rotation Recommendations

IRREGULAR REAR TIRE WEAR

If a vehicle exhibits irregular rear tire wear patterns, perform the following service procedure. For longer tire life, tires should be inspected and rotated at
6,000 or 7,500 mile intervals as recommended in the Owner's Manuals. However, it is important to note that tire rotation should be performed more
frequently if there are signs of irregular or uneven tire wear.

Please use the following service procedure to improve premature, irregular or uneven tire wear conditions:

1.

Inspect vehicle for any suspension/alignment related damage.

2.

Verify that vehicle trim height is correct.

3.

Check and adjust tire air pressure.

4.

If the irregular wear is mild, rotate the tires. If the wear is severe, contact the tire manufacturer as listed below.

5.

Check and re-balance wheels, if necessary.

6.

Check and correct front and rear wheel alignment as applicable.

NOTE:

For optimum tire wear, front toe-in should be set as close to zero as allowable by the specification.

On Excel, If rear alignment is out-of-spec, replace appropriate arm assembly to correct this condition.

7.

If the above steps do not correct the condition, the dealer should contact the appropriate tire suppliers as listed below.
