Unbolt the glass grips from the regulator and tape the glass in the raised position, so it is out of the way (see drawing).

Unbolt the 4 window regulator mounting nuts.

Carefully push the window regulator into the door.
6.
Mark the regulator upper mounting holes, as per drawing, 3 mm back from the edge of the holes.
7.
Elongate the regulator upper mounting holes 3 mm back from the edge of the holes using a rotary rasp, a "Uni bit" or a hand file. Vacuum the
metal chips out of the door.
8.
Apply a rust preventative paint over the bare metal edges.
Note:
Hyundai brand touch up paints are zinc rich, and have good rust preventative properties.
9.
Loosely reinstall the window regulator back into the door.
10.
Reattach the glass to the regulator. Adjust the window regulator so the glass is positioned against the back of the glass run along the rear of the
door.
11.
Tighten the 4 window regulator mounting nuts to 4 lb.ft (55 Kg.cm, 5.5 Nm).
12.
Roll the glass up and down a few times. Check for smooth operation and confirm that no binding occurs. Check that the glass has less than 4 mm
(1/8 inch) of movement to the rear.
13.
Apply a thin coating of silicone compound, such as "Syl Glide" or Marson K-2 Silicone Compound (part no. 15498 available through your local
Curtis Industries Representative) to the back of the glass run where it contacts the glass. Make sure there is no excess compound visible.
14.
Reassemble the door trim seal (plastic shield), making certain there are no tears or voids in the butyl tape seal. Reinstall the door panel. Make
certain that any damaged fasteners are replaced and there are no rattles in the door panel.
