Subject
ELANTRA WINDOW REGULATOR ADJUSTMENT
DESCRIPTION:
When driving over rough roads the front door window glass may settle, creating a wind noise. The window regulator may be misadjusted allowing the
glass to close at an angle. When the glass settles into position, it leaves a gap at the top, which can cause a wind noise while driving.
Note:
This procedure does not apply to vehicles produced after September 26, 1997.
DIAGNOSING PROCEDURE:
1.
Roll the window fully open, then fully closed.
2.
With one palm on each side, pull the glass to the rear.
If the glass moves back more than 4 mm (1/8 inch), it has too much clearance and may benefit from the following service procedure.
SERVICE PROCEDURE:
1.
Remove the door panel (see appropriate Shop Manuals for details).
2.
Carefully pull back the door trim seal (plastic shield).
