The MUT will then conduct a self check, followed by a model selection menu display. Select Model Number 19, "SRS AIR-BAG" (using the up
or down arrow symbols on the keypad) from the menu, and press the "YES" function key on the MUT keypad. (see illustration below).

The following display will appear on the screen:

SRS AIR-BAG
94 MY

ALL

SYSTEM?
AIR BAG

Press the "YES" tunction key on the MUT keypad. The following display will appear on the screen:

1. SELF-DIAG CODE
2. SERVICE DATA
3. SPECIAL TEST

Press the "1" key on the MUT keypad to display any stored fault codes in the Air Bag Control Module.

The fault code will indicate the portion of the air bag system responsible for setting the code. Refer to the service manual for additional fault code
information.

Clearing Codes

To clear a fault code following an Air Bag System repair:

1.

Follow steps 1 thru 8 in Code Retrieval.

2.

Select "3" (SPECIAL TEST") from the MUT menu. The following menu will be displayed:

1. SIMLTD VEH SPD*
2. DRIVE RECORDER
3. ERASE DIAG.

* Not currently used

Select "3" from the menu. The following menu will be displayed:

AIR BAG
ERASE DIAG.CODE?

4.

Select the "YES" function key on the MUT keypad. The following menu will be displayed:

AIR BAG
ID NBR:39
INPUT ID NBR.

        **
5.

Enter a "3" followed by a "9", then select the "YES" function key on the MUT keypad. The fault code should be erased.

6.

If the following message is displayed:

CAN NOT ERASE !
PLEASE CHECK
SYSTEM OR
CONDITION

the fault code cannot be erased and the Air Bag Control Module must be replaced.
