Cause:
Poor grounding of antenna due to one or more of the following conditions:
A.
Poor grounding of antenna mast support bracket to inner fender due to contamination of the ground by factory applied anti-corrosion
material.
B.
No continuity between antenna cable center pin and antenna mast threaded socket.
(Wiggle cable while checking continuity to verify that contact is intermittent.)
C.
No continuity between antenna cable ground conductor and antenna mast support bracket.
