Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Service and Repair

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain radiator.

2.

Disconnect fan electrical connector.

3.

Disconnect upper and lower hoses and overflow tube from radiator.

4.

If applicable, disconnect transmission cooler lines from radiator. Plug lines to prevent loss of fluid.

5.

Remove radiator mounting bolts, then the radiator, shroud and electric cooling fan as an assembly.

6.

Remove fan retaining nut, then separate fan from motor.

7.

Remove fan motor to shroud retaining nuts, then the fan motor.

8.

Reverse procedure to install.
