Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Testing and Inspection

1.

Remove sensor from intake manifold.

2.

Immerse temperature sensing portion of sensor in water and check resistance. Ensure that housing portion of sensor is approximately .10 inch
away from water when checking resistance values.

3.

Resistance should be 2.45k ohms with water at room temperature, or 296 ohms when water is heated to 176°F.

4.

If resistance values are not as specified, replace sensor.
