Subject FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT CONNECTOR
During continuity testing of the fuel gauge sending unit at the manufacturer, the connector leads of some of these units may have been damaged. If you
receive complaints of inoperative fuel gauges, please use the following procedure prior to replacing the fuel sending unit or gauge assembly on vehicles
produced prior to 7/24/86.
1.

Raise the vehicle.

2.

Locate and disconnect the sending unit connector from the vehicle main harness.

3.

Release the connector leads from the wire holders on the right side of the fuel tank to allow easier access to the connector.
