AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE OIL COOLER FLUSHING (Eastern Region Pilot Program Only)

Whenever an automatic transaxle is replaced in a vehicle, the oil cooler and lines must be flushed to remove contaminants that may be present. Improper
or lack of flushing may result in severe damage to the replacement transaxle.

The Transmission Cooler Flusher (J39463) must be used whenever a transaxle is replaced as part of the Remanufactured Automatic Transmission
(ATM) Program. Refer to the instructions below.

OIL COOLER AND LINE FLUSHING

1.

Check the flushing tool and hoses for wear or cracks before using. Replace if needed.

2.

Remove the filler cap from the flusher tank. Use the measuring cup provided and fill the flusher tank with 21 oz. of J35944-20 (available from
Kent-Moore) biodegradable flushing fluid. Follow the handling procedure on the fluid container.

3.

Securely tighten the filler cap and pressurize the tank with shop air between 80-120 p.s.i. The air line should be equipped with a water trap to
ensure a dry air supply.
