SANTA FE GLASS ANTENNA DIAGNOSTIC INFORMATION
DESCRIPTION:
The Santa Fe vehicle uses a glass antenna and antenna amplifier for the audio system.

Vehicles produced before September 24, 2001 used a single grid in the left rear quarter window.
^
Vehicles produced on or after September 24, 2001 have two grids in the left rear quarter window, one for AM and one for FM reception.
NOTE
If the AM/FM wires from the grids to the antenna amplifier are reversed, the reception in fringe areas (weak signals) will be poor.
This bulletin provides the diagnostic information to identify the type of antenna installed, and how to correctly identify the connections between the glass
antenna and the antenna amplifier.
