PARTS INFORMATION
GLASS ANTENNA CIRCUIT INSPECTION:
NOTE
The illustrations shown have been prepared based on the current antenna amplifier and glass antenna with separate AM and FM grids. The
previous system is similar, but with only one antenna wire from the glass antenna to the amplifier.
Before starting any diagnosis, verify the customer concern with a known good Santa Fe equipped with the same audio system.
1.
Disconnect the power cable from the amplifier. Turn the radio on. Using a DVOM (multi-meter), verify the power cable connector (M78) has 12
volts present.
2.
Turn the radio off. Reconnect the power cable to the amplifier and turn the radio on again. Using a DVOM with the black probe connected to a
known good ground, verify the amplifier ground bolt has less than 0.2 volts present.
3.
Disconnect the glass antenna wire connector from the amp.
Check the continuity between the AM glass antenna grid (the outside grid) and the top wire in the connector.
Now check the continuity between the FM glass antenna grid (the inside grid) and the bottom wire in the connector.
