Coolant Temperature Sensor / Switch HVAC: Description and Operation
WATER TEMPERATURE SENSOR
1. The water temperature sensor is located at the heater core, and detects coolant temperature flowing through heater core. It is an NTC device:
resistance will rise with lower temperature, and drop with higher temperature.

2. Electromotive heating control
In AUTO mode, discharge mode to the FLOOR or Bi-LEVEL, if the coolant temperature is low, the sensor will the prevent cold air from being
discharged toward passenger's legs.

Discharge mode FLOOR or Bi-LEVEL with AUTO setting

Coolant temperature is low
2. System operation

Mode door: DEF -> MIX -> AUTO

Blower level: AUTO LOW -> AUTO HI

Intake door: Ambient air
3. Override operation conditions

After the ignition is on for 10 minutes.

Coolant temperature is high.

Upon selecting blower mode manual operation, it will release the selected mode only. Upon selecting auto mode, it will re-enter the
selected mode.

If the mode is released by the system it will not reset.
-
It will prevail over max. hot feature.
