(TCS)
DESCRIPTION:
This TSB applies to 2001 Santa Fe Full Time Four Wheel Drive vehicles equipped with the Traction Control System (TCS). It describes a procedure to
operate the vehicle on a four wheel chassis dynamometer or on a hoist. If this procedure is not followed, erroneous Diagnostic Trouble codes may be set
and/or the vehicle's brake system may not operate normally while the vehicle is being tested on the dynamometer or hoist.
PROCEDURE:
1.
With the engine off, remove ABS fuses # 1 and # 2 from the junction box located in the engine compartment.
2.
Perform inspection/maintenance (I/M) work as planned on a dynamometer or a hoist.
NOTE:
Never lock the rear wheels with the parking brake while performing this test.
3.
Upon completion of I/M testing, turn the ignition key off.
4.
Re-install the ABS fuses # 1 and # 2.
5.
Road test the vehicle at speeds over 20 mph to confirm all warning indicator lights are off.
