Remove and discard the 7 screws from the underside of the running board cover. It may be necessary to apply some upward pressure on the cover
assembly to keep the side garnish mounting clips from rotating while removing the screws.
5.
Carefully remove the running board cover and discard.
NOTE
Some fasteners Will break during the removal process.
6.
Remove and discard all of the following:

Any of the 7 side garnish mounting clips located on the under side of the rocker panel which are broken or damaged. Remove by rotating 90°
and pulling out.
All remaining side sill-mounting grommets which may have broken off of the running board cover during the removal process. Remove by
rotating 90° and pulling out. Side cutters can be used to grasp the grommets by compressing the side locking tabs and pulling out. This is most
helpful on the rearmost grommet.
One (1) panel fastener located in the rocker panel rear of the rear door.
One (1) side sill molding mounting clip located in the rocker panel forward of the front door. Remove by rotating 900 and pulling out.

Remove the aluminum extrusion by removing the three (3) M6 bolts and two (2) self-tapping screws using a 10 mm magnetic socket, 6-inch
extension and standard ratchet. Retain the three (3) M6 bolts and two (2) self-tapping screws for later use in attaching the new aluminum extrusion
to the vehicle.
INSTALLING THE NEW RUNNING BOARD AND ALUMINUM EXTRUSION (RIGHT SIDE)
1.
On the passenger side of the vehicle, loosen the right front lower fender bolt using a 10 mm socket and standard ratchet. The bolt is located at the
front of the rocker panel.

Press the fender rearward as far as possible with the bolt still in the hole. While the fender is in its most rearward position, tighten the lower fender
bolt.
3.
Ensure the mounting area along the outer rocker is clean.
4.
With the 10 mm socket, 6" extension and the standard ratchet, attach the aluminum support to the outer rocker using the 3 bolts removed from the
previously removed aluminum support. Insert them into the 3 holes they were removed from in the front of the rocker.

Loosely install the rearmost M6 bolt first. While holding the aluminum in, up and level, thread in the remaining two M6 bolts until snug. Tap the
aluminum rearward with a rubber mallet until fully seated.
6.
Using a variable speed drill, 6" socket extension and 3/8" socket, insert the 2 self-tapping "oversized" pierce point screws back into the rear two
holes and drill into the outer rocker panel.
NOTE
Make sure not to tighten the self-tapping pierce point screws with the variable speed drill.
7.
Using a torque wrench, tighten the three (3) M6 bolts to 11 Nm (8 ft.lbs).
