Service Procedure
DIRECT TO JUNCTION BOX SERVICE PROCEDURE (SANTA FE OR VERACRUZ):
1.
Using a 10 mm socket, remove the negative (-) battery cable and secure it away from the negative battery post.
CAUTION:
Failure to disconnect from the battery may cause damage to the new replacement tow hitch control module.
2.
Carefully disconnect the two tow hitch harness connectors located on the driver's side, behind the rear wheel next to the muffler.
IMPORTANT:
If no connector is present skip to the Direct to Battery Service Procedure.
NOTE:
Connections may be separated by pressing on the locking tabs and carefully pulling apart.
3.
Carefully cut and remove the 4 cable ties securing the tow hitch harness to the individual anchor points.
